SOLD OUT! Thanks everyone! See you February 21!
Invitation for potters to participate
On Friday, February 21 at 6pm cone 10 studios will sponsor an empty bowls project to benefit Crisis Ministries. This year all of the proceeds from our event will help to complete the new facility under construction at Crisis Ministries. Empty bowls is an international grassroots effort to fight hunger that has been used to raise money in communities across the United States. cone 10 studios is asking potters from our community to create and donate bowls for this event.
The night of the event, guests will be invited to a simple meal of soup and bread prepared by Celia Cerasoli (Celia’s of Charleston) and Fiorenzo Berardozzi in exchange for a donation of $42 to Crisis Ministries. Each guest will keep the bowl they have eaten from as a parting gift and as a reminder of all the empty bowls in the world.
If you wish to participate with cone 10 in this project, please respond to Anne John at email@example.com or at cone 10 studios, 843.853.3345, so that we can plan for the number of bowls. We ask each participating potter to make two (2) bowls (or more) to be used at the event. Donated bowls should each hold two cups of liquid and be able to be carried easily with the guest’s serving. This year we are planning to feed 80 guests. If we have extra bowls, they will be sold with all proceeds going to Crisis Ministries.
On February 15 at 5:00 pm cone 10 invites all participating potters to a gathering of bowls. Each potter will bring the bowls that they have created to cone 10 studios where we will meet a group of fellow potters from the Charleston community and enjoy wine and appetizers provided by the studio.
