Classes at cone 10 studios

Sessions are beginning January 2018! 

 

 

 

cone 10 studios offers open studio time for student work, and high fire reduction firing. Class sizes are limited to provide space and individual instruction.  Course fees include glaze and firing.  Studio clay is provided and additional clay options may be available for purchase.  Course fees: $300 which include studio clay and additional Open Studio practice sessions.

Class Descriptions

Intermediate Wheel Throwing with Myra Bowie

Wednesdays, 6:00-8:30pm

February 7 – March 28, fee $300

In this class students will refine throwing and trimming skills before progressing to larger, more complex forms. Simple decorative slip and glazing techniques will be offered. Basic throwing skills required.

 

Beginning Wheel Throwing and Introduction to Clay

with Susan Gregory

Tuesdays, 6:00-8:30pm

February 6 – March 27, fee $300

This class will cover methods of centering clay and throwing cylinder and bowl forms such as mugs, cups and bowls. Students will learn how to finish their pots through trimming, decorating and glazing. Registering students should indicate what if any previous clay experience they have had.

 

Beginning Wheel Throwing and Introduction to Clay

with Maria White

Thursdays, 9:00-11:30am 

February 8  – March 29, fee $300

Introduction to Handbuilding with Margaret Weinberg

Wednesdays, 10:00am-12:30pm

January 24 – March 7 and March 21 fee $300

 

This class is a structured, sequential introduction to the manipulation of clay. Participants will learn and practice: pinching, coiling, and slab techniques; and simple surface decoration. Each week we will work through different fundamental projects. Basic methods of construction, assembly and glazing of work will also be covered. Our efforts will culminate in individual work based on these techniques. Beginners and continuing students are welcome.
