Fall Class Session at cone 10 studios

Fall session classes at cone 10 studios begin September 1, 2015.  We offer beginning and special topic classes in wheel thrown pottery, hand building techniques, and classes for children.




cone 10 studios offers open studio time for student work, and high fire reduction firing. Class sizes are limited to provide space and individual instruction.  Course fees include glaze and firing.  Clay and beginner’s tools are extra except where indicated. Course fees: $240-280.

Advanced Beginning Wheel Throwing with Anne John

Mondays, 6:00-8:30pm **FULL**Wait list only

September 14 – November 2, fee $240

In this class students will reinforce throwing skills, trimming, and glazing.  Students will progress to larger, more complex forms. Basic throwing skills required.


Beginning Wheel Throwing and Introduction to Clay

with Miyako Fujiwara and Anne John

Thursdays, 6-8:30pm **FULL** Wait list Only

September 17November 5, fee $240

This class will cover methods of centering clay and throwing cylinder and bowl forms such as mugs, cups and bowls and fundamentals of hand building techniques. Students will learn how to finish their pots through trimming, decorating and glazing.


Introduction to Glaze Techniques

with Myra Bowie

Wednesdays, 6:00-8:30pm

November 11 and  November 18, fee $60

Tired of the 1 dip glaze?

In this class students will move from the 1 dip glaze technique to using multiple glazes to create layering effects.  Students will be using wax resist, oxides, brushes, sponging, trailing and “phooing”  to layer and create new glaze palettes for their ceramics. Students should bring 6 to 8 different types of bisque pieces to practice new techniques.

This class is open to hand builders and wheel throwers with intermediate/advanced skills and to studio members.


Ceramic Form with Ruth Ballou

Tuesdays, 6:00-8:30pm

September 7 – November 12, fee $280

A hands-on intensive exploration of design as it relates to functional andbeautiful pots. This class will build on and refine each students skills.  Take advantage of the final class offered by Ruth Ballou at cone 10 studios

Children and Young People (4 Weeks)

Clay for Kids

with Celia Cerasoli

Mondays, 3:30-5pm

September 14 – October 5, fee $150

Students will learn the art of hand building while making fun projects in clay, using pinch and slab methods, and molds.  Ages 7-12.
